The Arlington Historical Society sponsors programs to research, preserve and publicize the local history of Arlington County, Virginia. Two of its programs involve operating historic properties.

Arlington Independent Media supports, educates, and inspires diverse creators and fosters independent media production through community television, radio, and digital arts. We provide training and access to media technologies and facilitate the creation of video, audio, web and digital content. AIM is committed to cultivating the voices in our community that might otherwise not be heard.

To provide effective, efficient and quality services, programs and interventions to juveniles, adults and families while addressing public safety, victim impact, offender accountability and competency development in conformance with court orders, provisions of the Code of Virginia and standards set forth by the Department of Juvenile Justice.

Research | Engage | Advocate
To improve the health, wellbeing, and safety of children, youth, and families in Arlington through researching young people’s needs, advocating for improved policies and programs to meet those needs, and engaging all members of our community as part of the solution.

The mission of the Arlington Philharmonic is to make classical music accessible to every Arlington resident, to promote the value of classical music in our civic life, and to build strong, creative partnerships with schools, local government, businesses, and other organizations. We are the only professional symphony orchestra performing in Arlington. We do not charge admission, in order to make excellent live performances and education available to everyone.

Our goals are to serve the Arlington Community through service and to support the education of students in need. We host fundraisers to support local charities and to fund scholarships for Arlington students from elementary school to college. We volunteer at charities and assist them in fundraising efforts. Arlington Rotary meets every Thursday from noon to 1:30pm at the Residence Inn in Courthouse for fellowship, lunch, and programs from local organizations and community leaders.

Arlington Sister City Association ("ASCA") is a nonprofit organization affiliated with Arlington County, Virginia. Established in 1993, ASCA has five Sister City partnerships: Aachen, Germany; Coyoacán, Mexico (in emeritus status); Ivano-Frankivsk, Ukraine; Reims, France; and San Miguel, El Salvador. ASCA works to enhance and promote the region’s international profile and foster productive exchanges in education, commerce, culture, and the arts through a series of activities.

Our primary mission is blindness prevention. We support vision screenings, eye banks and eyeglass recycling. We provide eye care services to those at risk of losing their sight. Arlington South Lions Club is working in the Arlington Free Clinic, providing eye care, and the Eyeglass Recycling Center providing free eyeglasses to those unable to afford them. Looking forward, we will be screening pre-school children for Amblyopia, and helping them to get the care they need.

Arlington Thrive provides timely assistance to help our neighbors in need so they can develop the capacity to be stable, secure and thrive in their jobs, health and homes.
